How did you feel after having your membranes stripped? Any changes you could notice?

Im 39 1/2 weeks got mine done a couple hours ago, im 3 centimeters, my cervix is halfway gone or thinned i dont remember and baby is low and ready!

I have been bleeding a lot since i left she said that would be normal, feeling ALOT of pressure when i walk or sit more if i sit. Cramping and just miserable. I think i have had a couple contractions. With the pressure and cramping i cant be sure what im feeling.

How did you feel if you had this done. My doctor said i go anytime and if not i am being induced at 5 am. I am scared and nervous. my first is 7 so its been a while.

What should i expect? Looking for personal stories not really professional opinions(those are welcome too)

Thanks, im so excited!

Update:

By the way that was the most uncomfortable and painful thing i have ever been through!

I have never gone into labor after having my membranes stripped ...some women this just doesn't work for. (I was 40 weeks, 4cm, and and at least 75% effaced the last time I had it done with baby #2 and still nothing) But it must work for most or the doctors wouldn't do it (it does feel awfully invasive). I was crampy after wards with a little spotting but it eventually subsided throughout the day. Either way - how exciting your baby is almost here!! Congrats!!!

Painful? It shouldn't of been painful. When I got mine stripped it didn't hurt a bit. But I'm confused. If they stripped your membranes why aren't you admitted to the hospital? Because after mine were stripped I starting pushing not long after. It may take a few hours to dilate but take it easy. Try to get an epidural if you can. It'll work out just perfect. Congratulations!!
