How long are the divorce papers good?
I had my lawyer draw up divorce papers in March 09? My husband and I reconciled. B ut things are getting bad again. Since I never signed the original papers and my lawyer has them on file. Can I still go sign them or do I have to have new ones drawn up. This will be a non contested divorce.
Old Warrior, your right about the word reconciled
The original reason i want to divorve him is he won't get a job. He even refuses to go out and look for one. He has been out of work since last Oct. He thinks that just because helps pay the bills. That entitles him to be a couch ornament. My father made his car payment for 6 months and my mom help with our electric bill twice.
My husband has not even offered to pay them back. I ask him why he doesn't get a job. He just stares at me and then says something to make it sound like its my fault thats he the way he is. And calls me a nag.
I told him. I'm not going to let him take me down.
He doesn't want to support his family.

Its been a few months....as long as nothing has changed (you two still agree on everything, etc) and as long as your state laws or specific divorce document requirements have not changed, then you should not have to change much. You may need to update the financial aspect of the papers, since finances can change pretty quickly...

When I was in your shoes, I was responsible for making those arrangements......my only restriction was that I couldnt be the one to serve the papers. I could hire someone from the court to do it or I could have a friend do it. I had a friend do it. I'm not quite sure about the CA law. You have to go to the courthouse and ask them. Try to work things out if that is what you truely want.
