Advertising my Hotel (in city and state of VA)?

Question

Ok. So my bosses bosses bosses etc. boss wants us to promote more advertising for our business. I work at a pretty nice Hotel (Homewood Suites By Hilton) in Sandston VA. We are one of the closest Hilton properties by this Airport so we do pretty good as it is. 

Now we have to come up with ways to advertise our Hotel. I've already come up with the local paper (Richmond Times Dispatch) and the Richmond Bus Company (GRTC) but I cant really come up with other ways of advertising. I'd really like my boss to be pleased with my work so If any of you could help out I'd be SOOOO happy.

Why would you advertise in a local paper when you want people visiting to stay with you?

This is what I would do....  Find travel agents (or work with travelocity or some other travel websites) in other cities.   Create a "get-a-way" or vacation package that features your hotel.  Include some tickets to some local attractions, and offer incentives to the agents to sell it.

You might be selling rooms a little cheaper than normal, but you'll get the exposure and maybe repeat business!

If you want to advertise in your city, then you might only be looking at those people cheating on their spouses as customers, which if you want that kind of business, may require the "romance room" with roses and champagne

You should list your hotel in Google Maps. You might also want to start a blog about your hotel as well. There are also many free advertising sites that you can list in, like Craigslist.org

You can advertise it online at website like http://adv.aplis.net/ ,etc .
