wat if the suns sign shawn marion?

would this put the suns back into the top of the west like b4?? i mean shawn marion isnt that old and wit the right system(suns) he was great. steve nash isnt showing signs of getting worse, just that too much went on in phx last season and he was still good wit alvin gentry. amare is still in his prime. and they have their new joe johnson in jrich.

If he indeed return as a Sun, I don't think he would be a spark plug to the Suns to become a title contender again. Steve Nash production will definitely drop since he's already past hi prime. Amare's uncertainty(if he's still a Sun when the regular season started) as a Sun player would somehow affect the tempo of the team and have some psychological effect on some players. I even think that they would still miss to qualify in the playoffs again next season.

The Suns would definitely be a contender if they sign Marion, Marion is a system guy who fits right into the Suns system. With Steve Nash, who isn't showing signs of slowing down, Marion would be good as he was before. He is what the Suns need, Defense and Offense and Versatility. But I doubt they would get pass the Lakers but at least they would be one of the top 4 teams in the west. Amare should put up big numbers again next year, assuming the Suns don't trade him. With Nash, Amare, Marion, Richardson, Hill, Barbosa the Suns are still a threat in the NBA and their new rookie, Earl Clark would definitely help them. Hope that Kerr can sign him. Though, I'm not much a fan of Kerr.

ok first off, amare is so unhappy in phoenix that there will be too much going on again this year if he stays. Nash I agree is still awesome but Jrich is not even close to Joe Johnson's level but then again I was pissed at him for because he sucked for fantasy basketball. Anyways, from what I have been reading is phoenix is about to clean house and start all over again. Nash will not stick around for that, amare is going to be the next one gone and then Nash. I wish I could say that adding marion would do the trick because I love watching the Suns but it would not do much I don't think. The west is too stacked with the Lakers, Denver, Portland, Dallas, San Antonio is back in the mix after picking up Richard Jefferson and Dallas is probably gonna land Marion anyways.

Marion wouldn't put them over the top. Plus the Suns want to move Amare. Once they do that, the team isn't very good. Nash is still solid but defintely aging.

It's very disappointing how Steve Kerr wrecked the Suns saying he wanted to get better on defense the proceed to trade the two best defenders in Marion and Bell.

The Suns were the most fun team to watch in the NBA for about 4 years. The Suns were legitimate contenders for a while, but now they are rebuilding. I don't even like to think about it.

What up Warriors need a pg,

i think that Marion would be a great fit in Phoenix being that he enjoyed his best years there- although i think that the Suns will not as good as some of the teams in the past- because they would be under Gentry and not D'Antoni's system.

i am not sure that they would be able to be one of the "top teams" in the West- even in their "hey day" running the "run-n-gun" type of season they couldn't get past the Spurs and i don't see the Suns being loaded enough to get past the Lakers. But it would be a smart move because Marion could adjust back very easily to their system.

The Suns are rebuilding. Marion is 30+...definitely not the direction they want to go. It would be a big mistake. They aren't a playoff team anyway

i was thinking the same thing too. if they can bring back shawn marion, they will be the most potent offense and be back to their old style in d'antoni days. the coach now plays more of the run and shoot play, where as the coach before was more defensive minded. shaq just slowed them down a little but he was still putting up points and rebounding. i hope they bring him back.

the suns would be alright, but didn't they just lose shaq?? they wouldn't be a premiership winning team.

    Nah. He's outta his prime

that's not so good.. they gave him away and then take him back? he'd probably not want to return anyway..
