Veneer vs Composite Resin?

I am getting some small spaces between my front top teeth filled in. My teeth are straight, just a little small and there are unflattering gaps. No one else notices them, but I do so YES it is purely for vanity reasons.

Money is not an issue but I am having a hard time deciding between the two. My dentist has given me the green light for either option but I want to hear from people who may have had either option.

Opinions?

Thanks :)

Each have + and - points.

A veneer will look great, if it's made of porcelain, Some are made from composite, and generally are not as aesthetically pleasing as porcelain. but will require you to have some of your enamel removed from the front surface in order for the veneer to fit onto your tooth. If you have healthy teeth with no decay then veneers should be ruled out.

Composite resin filling materials are less invasive. They will only require that the enamel is etched with an acid in order to stick. They are much cheaper than veneers but will stain over a period of years.

Lumineers are another option... very expensive...similar to veneers, except you do not need to cut enamel for it to stick on to the tooth. It will be stuck in a similar way to the composite resin.

If you have a good cosmetic dentist, with a good composite for shade matching, I personally would go with the composite resin. you can always get them changed in the future if/when staining occurs.

Why cut into a perfectly good tooth...especially when nobody else notices the gaps?!?!

a porcelin veneer is made of porcelin and made in a lab a composit resin is a white filling material......porcelain is more durable although it is far far more expensive but if done by a good lab and good dentist it can last for a long time we had a patient whos veneers were still going after 20years.....I dont think a composite veneer will last that long.....go for veneers definately as for the price it depends where u go nhs or private.....
