What Has The World Come To...?

when 16 T.V. Channels simultaneously broadcast a memorial to a freak??? Not to an honorable person, mind you, but to a perverted freak?? Has civilization come to an end??

Update:

Brad C-those boys he slept with were not his son. He said it was a beautiful thing to sleep with little boys. You call this normal?

He may have been acquitted but he sure paid off, didn't he?

Besides perversion has many faces, if you will pardon the pun. He made himself look like peter pan.

Update 2:

ppc422-Why do you think Kobe Bryant, and Mike Tyson were innocent? Why didn't you mention O.J. too? Seems to be a racist thread running amok by 20% of the population to exonerate their guilty.

Why aren't you up defending the innocence of Jeffery Dahmer and Charfles Manson also?

16 channels? We were luckier, we only had 12 channels. There are men and women giving their lives every day for us to have the freedom we enjoy, so why don't they get this kind of memorial? Many of them have sacrificed themselves to save their fellow soldiers, but the media, and by extension, the country doesn't care. If they did, they would be in a state of shock over the spectacle that's taking place.

While it is true that he was acquitted, that doesn't mean that he isn't guilty. There have been lots of people who were as guilty as sin that escaped justice because of a technicality. If it would have been someone without money that just had sleepovers with little boy, he would have been sitting in jail for the rest of his life. He may have escaped justice down here, but I'm sure he's received the judgment he deserved in the afterlife.

Honestly I think it is very wrong for you to judge another human being like you have now and to ask a question that obviously doesn't really have a meaning to it is just stupid. Yes, he does have issues. But who are you to call him a freak? God judges good and bad thats not your job. I totally know what you are saying that brodcasting him on 16 T.V channels is really rediculious. You are not suppose to worship idols. And that is what many people are doing. I don't think that you should really be stating an opinion like that on the internet. I know that he has done some really weird and questionable things but you didn't know him and you shouldn't just basically say that he doesn't deserve to be remembered. Actually the 12 year old boy that he was accused of melesting recently him and his family confessed that they lied and took him to court for money. I just think that he was a very misunderstood human being.

He didn't actually rape children ... thsoe accusations were proven lies and the mother of the children making them had a history of fraud...maybe he was a weirdo from the regular perspective and I agree with you that it's disgusting that the media is focusing all their energy on this one man while virtually ignoring the political crisis in Honduras, the repression in Iran, the riots in China that have left hundreds dead in 2 days, the failing economy all around the world, etc, etc.... but judge the media, don't judge a dead guy who's not even around to defend himself simply because he doesn't fit your opinion of what's normal.

We have this little thing called "Innocent untill Proven Guilty" in the United States. Look it up. Besides, he was acquitted.

Also, not only was this man a music and dance legend, but he gave more to the world in a day than you will in your entire life.

You should rephrase this question. Where has the world come from? The only difference now is the media, if you live in a 'fish bowl' like Michael Jackson this is what happens.

Besides, like it or not, freaks and such are 'in' and of course newsworthy. Who wants to see everyday events. (Sarcasm)

I don't think it was ever proven that said freak was in fact perverted. The kids' yuppie parents just wanted some free money. He was innocent, and so was Kobe Bryant, and maybe Mike Tyson. Either way, neither of us were there to prove it.

I don't think that anyone is thinking of Micheal Jackson's past mistakes. It's like the past few years have been erased and all anyone can remember are the positive qualities of M.J. He did do some good things I suppose( like giving to charity).

It's all about seeing the good in other people. MJ contributed a lot to music. People like to see that part of him instead of the bad considering he is dead and all.

What bothers me more is that the world is full of people who hate, and who can say the most thoughtless and cruel things, with no regard of who they hurt.

These must be the ones that Jesus prayed about when he said " Forgive them Father for they know not what they do."

Oh well excuse the world for feeling sorrow over the death of a man who changed cultures worldwide. Heaven forbid that people want to see his memorial service!

There's a reason he was never convicted you gay b*tch. One of them being that he did nothing. He liked to sleep with his son. Oh wow! He should die! If you hate him fine. Must the rest of the world follow you? Do we all have to feel the same way you do is it wrong to care if someone dies?
