Should I put different styles of the same gift on my wedding registry?
For example, should I put 2 sets of salt and pepper shakers that I like so that people can have a choice of what to give? I know that when I buy a gift off of a registry, I don't just look at the price. I like to give something that I can identify with. If they registered for baking stuff, I'd be more apt to get that because I like to bake. So while I might pass up one set of S&P shakers because I think they're hideous, I might buy the other set because I like them better. At the end of the day, I'd just like a set of S&P shakers and I don't have my heart dead set on one exact set. Of course, I'm using S&P as an example - I'm not obsessing over whether or not I get them specifically.

No you really should only have one of each item on there. Are you going to have 2 blender, duvets, crock pot, etc on there too? Just because you like them all and cant make up your mind, doesn't mean you should ask for them all. This make you look very greedy. One of each!

If you want all your things to match I would go with one set. Kitchen appliances and things like that only put what you absolutely need. Don't ask for a ton of wedding picture frames and albums because people love to give that stuff and I got sooooooooooooooo many it was insane! People also love to overwhelm you with pyrex which isn't a bad thing because pyrex is amazing. But your future hubby and you should pick a design and stick with it if you want it to match.
For stuff like bathroom stuff if you have more than one bathroom thats when I would do more than one set.
My husband and I got a lot of picture stuff, wine glasses, pyrex, towels, etc... and a lot of money.
If you put more than one of each thing then you might end up getting a ton of the same product just in a different style, the good thing is you can always return :)

No you may end up with multiples of the same item. No need for two sets of salt and pepper shakers...

you should only register for what you need for your new household. do you need 2 sets of S&P shakers? no, you'll live with only 1 set.

Unless you want multiples, just get one of each item. Don't register for stuff that you don't want just to fill a list. As far as personal tastes go, most people realize that you have your own style and don't let their own tastes get in the way of that.
