  • Why is my cat pooping everywhere?

    Because she is.

OK. I have a cat who is perpetually pooping outside the litter box. I have tried EVERYTHING to get her to stop. First, I took her to the vet to make sure nothing was wrong. Actually, I've done that several times as it's been years. I make sure the litter is clean, I put a second litter box in my apartment (even though it's only 700 sq. ft.), I've changed the brand of litter a few times AND I mix wet food into her dry food. I'll be honest, after 12 years, it's gotten old. Does anyone have any other ideas? OR, does anyone want a cat who poops all over? Because at this point, she can be yours for the low, low price of free.

  • Can I book a hotel room with 2 different rates?

Someone gave me a ticket to a show in Vegas and one night in a hotel room. We wanted to reserve the hotel for a 2nd night, but the rates through the hotel aren't cheap. I found a rate online (priceline) that is significantly cheaper. If I book the first night through priceline, will I get a hassle from the hotel about the 2nd night?

  • Should I put different styles of the same gift on my wedding registry?

For example, should I put 2 sets of salt and pepper shakers that I like so that people can have a choice of what to give? I know that when I buy a gift off of a registry, I don't just look at the price. I like to give something that I can identify with. If they registered for baking stuff, I'd be more apt to get that because I like to bake. So while I might pass up one set of S&P shakers because I think they're hideous, I might buy the other set because I like them better. At the end of the day, I'd just like a set of S&P shakers and I don't have my heart dead set on one exact set. Of course, I'm using S&P as an example - I'm not obsessing over whether or not I get them specifically.

  • Marriage during bankruptcy proceedings?

I'm getting married in a few months and my fiance wants to declare bankruptcy beforehand. We live in CA and don't have any community property. If we get married after the papers are filed but before the judgment comes back, will my income be taken into account?

  • Is it possible to cheaply re-set 2 rings into one?

I have 2 diamond rings. I'm getting engaged and would like to take the diamonds from one and the gold from both of them and create a new ring. What I'd like to know is:

    1. Will they melt down and re-use the white gold that the rings are made of and use it in the new setting?

    2. Will it cost a lot more to create a setting instead of using a prefab one? I've heard people say it's pretty cheap to get a ring re-set, but I'm not sure if that is just if it's being put into a standard setting.

    3. Will the jeweler be willing to use a CZ as the main stone or will they turn up their nose at this?

I know that I'll need to see a jeweler for specifics, but was hoping to go in a little more educated than I currently am. And I don't want to get laughed out of the store when I mention the CZ.

  • Is my kitten's bad breath just linked to his teething?

My kitten has breath so bad that if it could be bottled, would be more deadly than any biohazardous material. Seriously, it's narsty. But it's not like it smells like gingivitis, it just smells like his food. I've started to get him ready for teeth brushing and he loves the taste of the kitty toothpaste. Yesterday I used the little toothbrush along with the paste, but his gums started to bleed a little bit. Is this common in teething (he's 5 mos. old) or could it be some sort of problem? He's always had the bad breath and I've taken him to the vet for his shots and they looked at his teeth and never said a word. And he eats like a horse and is super playful, so he doesn't seem sick or anything...

  • Should I discipline my kitten for attacking her older "sister?"?

I got a new kitten a couple of months ago. As soon as he saw my existing cat, he fell in love with her. He's like that annoying little brother who's all "hey....what are you doing...what are you doing now...how about now..." He just wants to be with her at all times. BUT, he's a kitten and he likes to play. And by play I mean, jump all over her while biting her. I know he's not hurting her and she does fight back a bit, but she seems a little stressed about it. I mean, honestly, it's hilarious. But I feel bad for her. It's like she just wants a break. Should I do something to stop him from behaving like that towards her?

  • Why is my kitten purring and crying at the same time?

I adopted a feral kitten almost a week ago. I've been slowly gaining his trust. We're now to the point where he might hiss at me initially, but then I'll pet him and he'll start purring. But then he starts meowing loudly at the same time. He seems to like the petting and will sometimes roll onto his side, but why is he crying? Am I just scaring the crap out of him? I know that cats purr when they're scared as well as content. Help...

  • My resident cat is throwing up a couple of days after I brought a new kitten home.?

I recently had to put one my cats to sleep. It was pretty sudden and awful. Her sister wasn't crying in loneliness, but I could tell she was a bit discombobulated. So, I decided to get a kitten. I rescued him from a shelter and brought him home on Saturday. The kitten is in his own room with the door shut, but I've been letting the door stay open and they've sniffed around each other with a little growling, but nothing more. I figured it would go well. This morning, my older cat wasn't acting herself. She's a bit of a pig and wasn't crying for food in the morning. She was swallowing a lot and I could just tell that she didn't feel that great. I gave her some food which she ate and then promptly threw up. She didn't run and hide after and came up on my lap, but I'm worried. Is this normal behavior for a resident cat when a new kitten is introduced? I'm a little paranoid since her sister died of renal failure and was throwing up a lot right before...should I worry?

  • Why isn't my heat lamp hot?

I just moved into a new apartment. The bathroom has a regular light/fan combo and a "heat lamp." Well, the landlord said it was a heat lamp, but there's no heat coming off of it. It does light up, but doesn't heat up. Can I just buy a heat lamp bulb to put in there? It's frigid in my apartment and this sitch is making me crankier than normal in the morning.

  • Ugly Vertical Blinds?

I just moved into a new apartment and have the most disgusting vertical blinds. I'd consider taking them down if I had a place to store them, but I really don't. I was thinking about putting up curtains, but then realized that the stupid plastic covering goes all the way across the front and you'll see if if the curtains are open. So...anyone have any cute suggestions for them?

  • How can you "fix" a shower head that's too low?

I just moved into a new apartment. I brought the wonderful shower head from my last place with me - one of those rainfall ones. The problem is that the shower arm comes out of the wall at about my head level (and I'm 5' 2"). Since I'm renting, I really don't want to replace the pipe that goes into the wall for fear of totally jacking it up. The shower head came with one of those S pipes, but all that really does is make the head come out further from the wall - it doesn't make it any taller. Any suggestions? Are there special pipes you can buy to bring the ding dang head up higher? I practically ripped the stupid shower pipe out of the wall last night in frustration.
