Ugly Vertical Blinds?
I just moved into a new apartment and have the most disgusting vertical blinds. I'd consider taking them down if I had a place to store them, but I really don't. I was thinking about putting up curtains, but then realized that the stupid plastic covering goes all the way across the front and you'll see if if the curtains are open. So...anyone have any cute suggestions for them?

Are they ugly or are they dirty, you might be able to clean them up. you might also try to find something sheer or lacy even so that you don't have to really open the blinds. You might try to use curtains to decorate them up. You may go to a hobby store and try to paint them... time consuming... yes, an idea none the less. Is it not possible to take the plastic coverings down? Blinds can get expensive, esspecially vertical... not to mention if you have to special order what you would rather (color and sizes matter) You may also try to find a neutural color that is on sale.

Paint them to resemble a stage door from a game show, like paint "The Price Is Right" across the entire opening of blinds, then you can have a hot chick emerge from behind the blinds holding some "prize" when you open them and then you can play your own sexy version of the game show at home.

Ask your Landlord if you can throw them away. Sometimes the blinds are left over from the previous tenant. That's what I did a few years ago.
