how long until i can re dye my hair?

I had my hair dyed black for two years, and 7 weeks ago i died it a medium brown. I am going to go blonde but that was as light as we could get it that time. I went back a week ago to get my hair done blonde, but because the brown had faded to a light brownish orange, she had to dye it darker to brown to get rid of the Orange so that next time i can go blonde without the risk of going orange. When do you think i can go back to get my hair dyed blonde? I've been using a reparative hair mask every other day and letting it sit on my hair for a half hour- an hour. It's only been a week since i last died it, but i want to go as soon as possible.

Update:

okay just to clear this up,

my hair isnt black, and it isnt dark brown, its just darker than it was before she died it, it was almost blonde when she died it so now its like light brown :P

It's normally 3 months between coloring or you're going to do some major damage to your hair. Especially trying to go from dark brown to blonde. The only way I see that working is to use peroxide base and basically bleach it. You realize that once you start dying you will have to forever? Yep, it strips the natural color right out and you'll be a shiny white/grey/silver underneath!

if you have black you cant go blonde you should get heavy high lites with foils and then every 8 to 10 weeks get your roots retouched this should help you achieve a better result...it wont be blonde at first but the more you do the more blonde you will see... and btw....your roots will always be lighter shade as long as you have black on the ends. dont let anyone tell you different
