MotoGP: Lorenzo to Telefonica HONDA ?

Well it would seem that silly season has started early again !!

This from Kropotkins : http://www.motogpmatters.com/news/2009/07/07/loren...

I dont think it will happen myself as #99 seems happy at YRT and I think he like having a team mate like Vale who can push him and improve him.

............. however, the spanish love their bike racing, they love to have home talent with home sponser's. This is the reason behind other rumours that Red Bull is taking over the main HRC deal ( now that they only sponser the 125 KTM's they dontget much air time ) and Repol will be going to YRT to replace Fiat.

Repsol, have a very long relationship with MotoGP and I cant see them wanting to end it. I think it would be better to see Lorenzo stay with Yamaha and maybe Repsol rather then see him move ship to Honda.

What are your thoughts race fans?

    Hello Wiggysan,

I think the best option for Lorenzo is to stay where he is at and let the sponsor come to him. It may not be the most $, but I think it's the best spot for him to contend for championships.

On the other hand, how big is his ego? and how greedy is his agent? And although Pedro and Dovi have been inconsistent, they have shown the Honda can be fast, and Lorenzo might be thinking he can ride it faster.

He should be one of the top 3 at the end of the year, so Yamaha will be able to command big money if they keep him along with Rossi.

I wonder if anyone at Repsol would like to have Lorenzo and Pedro on the same team? This would move Dovi back to a satellite and I would hate to see that happen, but I bet someone is thinking it.

In the end, I see Lorenzo going after the cash and the #1 seat somewhere. The Telefonica - Honda with full factory support makes sense, and I think it's the quickest and easiest way to that result.

Hi Wiggysan, I never thought about it before now, But Yamaha are in a posistion to start cutting wages, they are swamped with riders wanting to ride the M1. (including Nakasuga) (lol). So the bit about Lorenzo saying he knows his worth makes me think Yamaha are not going to renew his contract at the price he wants. and they must have a replacement in mind. and if the rumours are true about the class going back up to around 1000cc I would doubt Pedrosa would be in the equation. He just isnt strong enough. I also cant see HRC letting him go just yet either. one think I do think is certain Yamaha will be planning to have Ben in GP for 2011. so something (depending on the rules) is going to have to happen. also If Rossi keeps winning races next season you can bet he will sign for at least another year after 2010. leaving Lorenzo's place at risk. he might as well start looking for a decent ride now just in case.

Edit after reading G.R and C.V I would like Dovi to develop the Honda and do well, But I wouldnt mind him going to the Tech 3 team and lorenzo going to HRC just to turn the tables on their past. problem being Dovi stills end up second division. Let them both stay where they are for 2 years and see who develops what. I really do want to see Dovi kick lorenzo's a$$

Well done ole chap for another

'food for thought' - XxX -

I could well be wrong here BUT the way I

see it - 2010 seems a little premature for

our Stunt Man Mike to be off anywhere -

With recent speculations of Rossi renewing his

contract with Yamaha at the end of 2010 for a

further 2 years (which I believe he will do) -

PLUS the suggestions of BEN getting his move

in 2011 to MOTOGP (which I believe he will do) -

I can't see Yamaha wanting to loose Lorenzo prior

    to 2011 (which I don't think they will) -

Yamaha will (surely) be pitching to sign BEN as

team mates in ROSSI'S (supposed) final year ??
