Conservatives, do you REALLY believe that Fox News provides "Fair and Balanced" coverage?

Do you really believe that the coverage Fox provides is completely objective and isn't slanted in one direction or another? If so, why? Also, why do the conservative commentators on Fox get more press and air time than the liberal commentators if Fox News is really so "Fair and Balanced"?

No. It is slanted toward my views, that's why I watch it.

Yes, the news programs in the morning and Shepard Smith's reports really are about as fair and balanced as you can get. That's not to say they are completely unbiased. No one can give you a completely neutral report on events. But for the most part, you know when Fox hosts are editorializing. CNN and the others try to pass off editorialization as fact and not opinion.

What makes Fox News more 'fair' (since fairness is a purely subjective term) than the other networks is that when O'Reilly, Beck, and Hannity are on, you are made aware that their shows are commentary/opinion shows. Glenn Beck tells his audience several times a week that he is not a journalist. Plus, do you think these guys could get a show on (P)MSNBC? Beck wasn't even allowed on big CNN but had to settle for CNN Headline News which is now a misnomer since it left the 'headlines every half hour format'.

Ok this is what I think. I think it all depends on what time of the day you are watching it. I believe that people get the news mixed up with talk shows. Yes I believe it's fair and balanced when it comes to the news but I think people like Hannity are way out there. I have seen Orielly be fair on many occassions and think he gets a bad rap sometimes. Glenn Beck is a Libertarian. I agree with him on almost everything.

I beleive that cnn is the most fair and balanced which is why their rating are so low. They are hated by the extremists on both sides. I find them refreshing.

MSNBC is alright when it comes to the news. There are just so many talk shows on there that it's very hard not to be effected by the hate they spew. I don't even see a lot of keith O supporters on here. He went way over the top and his mouth is an insult to people of all parties. If I watch fox it's during the day when it's more f@b.

From what I've seen flipping back and forth between the networks watching coverage on the same story. It's amazing how whacked some reporters get with the news. I give Fox credit for giving the most fair and balanced reporting of them all. I make my call from news I've seen then watch how it's covered on the networks..I believe Fox is more conservative than the other networks but that doesn't bother me as much as distortion of the truth. I thought reporters were supposed to report the news, not make it!

  • I watch 3 networks and I can say without doubt that NONE are completely fair and balanced. Of those I watch, Fox, however, does have the most balanced coverage. Outside of commentary shows, they seem to at least try to cover all topics and all points of views. They also seem to be the first to cover many stories which I suspect would stay hushed if Fox didn't get them out first. The best and most fair coverage, IMHO, goes hands down to Shepherd Smith at Fox News.

When overseas, SkyNews seems to be the least biased and more journalistic in their coverage.

Relatively speaking, yes. Is it 100% fair, balanced, and unbiased? Of course not. I don't watch every single show and don't watch every day, but I definitely tend to see a variety of views presented when I do watch. The people certainly have their own views and opinions, but they do a decent job of presenting more sides to issues than just their own. It's not perfect, but it's all we've got left with the rest of the main media outlets getting to the point of being completely blinded by their allegiance to the great Obama. You can even see it in the number of important stories that they don't even bother to report. It's often not even that I want to watch Fox News. It's that it's sometimes the only network to report on some things.

Sweetie --- The fact that Fox News does provide " Fair and Balanced " coverage is evidenced by the fact that reporting actual news through statistics, facts and logic obviously causes people such as yourself to apparently get your panties in a bunch by virtue of the fact that actual reporting does expose shortcomings and truth on all sides.

The bottom line is that Fox News accurately reports the News and unlike MSNBC does NOT attempt to report something as being factual when it is not.

For this reason MSNBC subectively DISTORTS the News & Fox News objectively REPORTS the news.

Honest people separate news and editorials.

FOX has more hours of NEWS in their day than any other network. They are the ONLY network on whom there is a "bounty" available if anyone catches them reporting something false. ALL other networks have been busted literally making-up crap and most of them have BROADCAST the fact they see themselves as voluntary propaganda machines for the left.

On the editorial side, FOX does have more conservatives. In their defense, they are the only network that has ANY at all. This is a business decision, obviously, since their ownership group openly supports the left. Conservatives get better ratings.

They are definately slanted more towards the conservative side....with that being said, they ALWAYS show both sides.

do you REALLY believe that all the other news networks provides fair and balanced coverage and does not slant towards the left? If you think this then you are in serious denial.

It would not be America without Fox. If we did not have Fox then we would only hear one side of the news since all of the other networks are in bed with Obama. Fox balances the news out as does talk radio.

No I don't believe FOX is fair, and balanced. However liberals will argue until they are blue in the face that MSNBC,and CNN are not liberally biased. If someone can't see they are they are just as blinded as a conservative who says FOX is fair, and balanced. But that being said I don't believe Fox is nearly as biased as MSNBC or CNN.

I personally don't watch Fox New's (Cable TV in general). I'm much more likely to read CNN, Fox New's etc. on the internet because I'm not a huge fan of commentators / editorials. That's not to mention "News" these days seem to be largely about entertainers, who died, who killed who etc. I don't consider that really New's worthy and a waste of my time. I'd rather pick & choose articles that interest me.
