Question about Hollyhocks?

My HH have something wrong with them. It looks like little bumps on the underside of the leaves, and it is slowly killing them. Can someone tell me whether this is a parasite or a disease, and how to get rid of it?

it is called rust, apply a fungicide on a cloudy day, or in the evening. orthonex makes a systemic fungicide/insecticide in spray form.$10-.make sure you apply to all parts of the plant, you might have to cut it back if the problems continues to save the plant.avoid watering the leaves.if they do get wet, give them a shake.so the water wont stay settled on the plant.

I have put a link below that will tell you more about the disease that your hollyhocks have, called rust.

Briefly, it is caused by a fungus and is very common. Go to the bottom of the link and it will show you a picture too.

spray the plants daily with a mixture of dish soap & water. you can remove the leaves that are damaged. mulch the area well & water often.
