I am looking for a band?

I'm going to put starting a band on hold until I can join one and see how it works... problem is, I want to play metal and I'm a violinist. Metal bands who use violins that I've heard usually use violins in the slow parts and not once have I heard a violin in thrash, progressive, power, or any of the heavier, harder stuff. That's what I want to play. I live in Odenton. answer and send a message if you want an electric violinist in your band!

Update:

Good point, Aron, every playing oppurtunity is great. But I would probably end up in an orchestra and even though I am classically trained, I don't want to play in an orchestra, I want to play in a band with some heavy stuff. How are you going to find playing oppurtunities like that for a violinist?

Are you already a professional musician?

This answer assumes you are not already a professional musician:

If you want people to know you are out there start taking any and every playing opportunity you can get. You'll start networking, getting to know whose who and whose doing what, and they will get to know you, and eventually you will find or be able to create multiple situations that meet your criteria.

I'm a professional musician, with several successful regional groups, this is how I started, and it continues to work and provide me with more and more opportunities.
