Honestly, Would You Turn The Whole Thing Over To The Police?
I'm not quite sure what to do here, I know I'm angry, and that the whole thing makes me sick, but it's a complex situation...let Me fill You in
There's a person, He trolls the Rock and Pop section here on Y!A under various names (One being Man Egg) and He's also very active in Xat Chatrooms. Here's the problem, number one, he's 17 and knows it, and is an expert at bending legal technicalities to his advantage. Number two, He is also one of the worst threat-makers/bullies I have ever seen. In chatroom situations over and over I have seen this guy threaten beatings, rape, and murder upon people, while using every racist slur in the book, He's just as nasty, and ugly as a human gets. I have personally seen him tell a 14 year old girl (that he lives in the same city with, btw) that he is going to "murder her, then rape her dead body" I saw him tell another 17 year old that He was going to do the same thing to his girlfriend.
This is what I need to know, legally, what can be done to stop this?
Hi Civic Cat
Most of the threats/intimidation is done in chatrooms, not here in Y!A. He he just spams bands he hates

For the police to take action, a threat needs to be credible. Some pimple-faced troll whose balls haven't even dropped yet hurling threats and insults at everyone he sees in an internet chat-room is hardly a credible threat.
He's just a sad, pathetic, lonely person who feels like he has no power in this world (and is right) and feels that if he can scare or intimidate people, that will make him cool somehow.
My recommendation is to add him to your blocked list. If you can't do that, then just laugh at him a lot.

BQ2: 1981 (Raiders of the Lost Ark over The Silence of the Lambs) BQ3: Hostel (if that can even be called a horror movie). Since when did gory become synonymous with scary?

Yes it can be reported to the police if you do have all the evidence that backs the whole thing up in the place where the problem is occurring at when it was said and they can track is ip number to find him and i heard something simillar like this happened to someone on Craigslist or Myspace sometime awhile back and get the police involved in this since xat doesnt want to get involved in this problem

I totally agree with this guy ^
Look, despite the fact that the things he's saying may be awful, it's easiest just for everyone to ignore him, I fail to understand why people can't do it. They're idle threats after all from some loser; it's not a police matter.

It can be reported to the police, if you have all the evidence and places where it was said. They could trace the IP# to find him.
I heard about a girl who was harassed by a guy like that, he kept threatening her so she'd do sexual things for him over a webcam or something, and he'd say that if she didn't that he knew where she lived and he was going to rape her and kill her family. She reported it to police and I believe he was eventually found.. It was on some talk show or something, so I'm guessing it was true, because he wasn't even in the same state as her and they traced his IP# from his IM's and emails.
=/ Sorry for rambling, I guess if you'd want to report you should just go to a police station and ask them where to start.

Well, first of all I would not stand by and take this. This is disgusting and abnormal. I would turn this over to the police as long as there is enough evidence to prove the case. Call you local police department and fill them in on the situation and hear their point of view on the situation.

As you know the city this is happening from, contact the law enforcement there... if it is a big city they will be happy to redirect you to the proper precinct.
Empty threats or not, it is time that push came to shove and the bully needs to be put in his place. No normal person would ever threaten to do that which right there tells me he is a danger.

Get the police involved, seriously!
He isn't just a troll he's a person with serious problems and he might be crazy enough to do that to people from the internet. It needs to stop, please contact the police

If you can get the guy busted or just scare him into not doing this **** anymore, then yeah, I would say turn him over.
