Macbook Air, Macbook, Macbook Pro?

Im looking at macbooks on ebay and I am trying to decide between: Macbook Air, Macbook, or Macbook Pro (unibody models). The reason for the Air is because people dont want them very much so they sell em'. Which one should I get or which one did you like the best?

The fact is, Macbook Air is the worst bang for your buck. Your paying mostly for the smallness of it. And if you heavier than 80 pounds, the lightness and thinness of a Macbook Air is not worth it compared to the Macbook Pro.

Definitely get the Macbook Pro if your looking for strength and power. The Macbook is an older model and will be up with major major major updates by next year. The Macbook Pro is the most current up to date Macbook that Apple has out right now.

Macbook Pro is definitely your best bet.

A lot depends on two or three things. How much money do you have to spend? That will help determine which two or three you can use. I like the Air. First it is fast, it is very light and it is not all that expensive. The only problem people have with it is the lack of a disk drive. However I have two external drives, both are fantastic burners and both were cheap. They also came with their own Mac Drivers. I have external HD, to the tune of 2tb and external zip drive and external floppy drive. If it is external I got it. Other than being hit with dumb stick when I went Mac buying a few months ago I would have been the owner of an Air. I own a MacBook Pro (intel of course), it is fast, aluminum, heavier than I can carry now days so I loaned it to a friend who needed an intel MacBook. She is in 7th heaven, loves the speed, the ports, the ability to use VOIP. She is a videographer, does wonderful work. She loves the heavy duty computing power over the G5 she has been using. MacBook (classic), Own two of these, (no kids), one on permanent loan and the other is part of my home herd (4 in number). I have this years MacBook. It is ready for Lion, already has the interesting touchpad, it is running at 2.4ghz, hey when I started with mac and one went to 7mhz, so I am more than pleased with the speed and power, plus I get hours of use, usually 0730 plus hours. So I am more than pleased except that it doesn't have firewire. There is a work around, so I am not all that bothered by it. I think the Classic should handle anything college could toss out. Some demand a specific OS type program, but Macs run both Mac and Windows natively, so I don't see that as a problem. U just get boot camp, follow the instructions and get a partition and put Windows in the partition. Have fun at college

Depends on what you want to do. The Macbook is 13" and the Pro is 13", 15" or 17" ... so screen size might influence your decision. The Pro will have more horsepower. The Air requires you to have an external CD/DVD drive or use a network to install from CD/DVD (this means music CDs too).

If you're OK with a 13" screen then the Macbook should be OK, put your extra money into maxing the memory (in any computer), if 13" isn't enough then spring for a Pro.

The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro used to be worlds apart when it came to price, but there's not a lot of difference when it comes to cost these days. We weigh up the differences so you can decide which to buy.

well i think the "air" is a piece of crap, you're paying for it because it's thin, but to get it thin they've taken some stuff out, things you would usually get on other laptops, as standard, things like multiple USB ports, an optical drive, the macbook is a very nice laptop, it's a bit pricey but it's worth it, you won't be able to do much video/photo editing with it (unless you aren't looking to do that), if you are, and if you can afford it, get the pro, it's got a special battery that apple developed meaning you get way more usage time than you would with another laptop. Hope I helped

A normal mackbook is slow after a while and boring. I have had one and it always gets stuck. I recommend getting a mackbook pro because it is easy to use, the fastest apple laptop in my opinion, and comfortable to use at home or at the coffee shop. (Or whatever you use it for)
