well duh

the author is a failed british spy who wrote books about a spy who's like this ultimate warrior. Never gets shot, has answers for every occasion.

Its sooo fiction its pittifull.

most people who work in either CIA or MI6 do the following:

the common spy sits at a desk watching foreign news, and reading newspapers like Pravada from Russia and other foreign countries.

Then there's the upper class:

These are the guys who have shown some good in their abilities, all though i dont know what the requirements are.

They become Special attachey to a ambassador in some foreign country.

But they spend most of their days siting in a basement room (out of sight) reading newspapers and watching local tv.

Sometimes these are involved in state dinners and such where anyone they meet-talk to, they write long reports on.

Then come the elite:

"Body of Lies" and "Sum of All Fears" are about as close as Hollywood has gotten to a true CIA field Spook (same for MI6)

In Body of lies you see a CIA operative who has been sent into the field in the Middle East, who can blend in, look normal, usualy have a look of foreigner, and is very watchfull.

They are secretive, and if they gain a contact (as in Body of Lies) they communicate with them in ways that hopefully no one else will see (marks on sides of objects, and such).
