Vista 32bit, 64bit, or stay with XP?
I picked up a virus and have to scrap my hardrive its so bad. Gotta love the game hackers in korean beta F2P's whoop on em too hard an they send you a virus. So I was thinking of geting vista so i can run directx 10 finally. Whats better for gaming in a high end PC vista 32 bit, 64 bit, or should I just stay with windows XP still?

Microsoft will stop issuing security updates for XP one of these days so it's best to move on now.

I've purchased 4 Dell computers at different times. The last three purchases where plagued with the same questions. Everyone I talked to, techies from organizations, to individuals whoa re using both say hands down stay with XP. I've headed that advice and so far have never regretted it. If you are only interested in gaming, I would suggest to go to Mac. They are truly the state of the art always for the highest end graphics etc.

if you have a high end pc then get vista 32, and if your hardware can support 64 bit then get 64, otherwise stay with vista 32. adn if you have a crap pc, then stay with xp.

Sounds like you want DirectX10 for new games, so go Vista32.
Vista64 has other issues that you don't want to deal with if all you want to do is play games.
As long as it IS a high end PC, Vista32 should run beautifully.
Consider Windows7?
It'll be out in Sept.

im running on a 64 bit windows vista and i have no complaints. as for viruses, windows adds too much protection which can sometimes can be annoying but tends to help. i love vista and i have had no major proplems with it.

u should never need to scrap the hdd unless its crunching, run the seagate harddrive checker to test this drive (make sure its secondry)
also i would personly stick to vista 64bit if ur pc is high end, if its only mid range, stick to xp

if you can wait i would reccoment Windows7 64bit. if you cant then its up to your really. vista doesnt run very good on laptops. so if you have a pc with good specs capable of support 64bit OS i'd go with vista 64bit
