Roller coasters and the unborn?

I found out recently that my step aunt went on a roller coaster with her step children while she was pregnant (4 months). Now it was my understanding that babies were in a state of suspension anyway, but we have been told that the child may suffer from a developmental disability. What types of disabilities should we expect? They have stopped sharing information with my family cause we came down hard on them for not doing the reading and being prepared, but we are still being supportive. Since he is always over ('free babysitting') we would like to know what will work best for him. Thnks

Chances are that everything is fine with the baby. I just can't believe that she was able to go on a roller coaster at four months and not puke her guts out! Yes, you do have to be extra careful when you are pregnant, but the baby is also very protected in the womb and can take a little more than you'd think. If she is going to her pre-natal visits then her doctor can address anything that may come up. Also, don't be so judgemental. Maybe she herself is rethinking the roller coaster and is now worried herself. Any extra stress on a pregnant woman is not good and that could do more damage than the roller coaster!
