My neck is killing me! Help?
2 days ago when I woke up, my neck was absolutely killing me. Pain was all over the left side, and today there is still pain. It hurts whenever I move my head and whenever I move my body. Weirdly enough, when I lay on my right side in bed, it hurts. Does anybody have any suggestions of what to do or take?

The neck is a very fragile part of body and is easy to cause muscular pain in. Having broken vertebra in my neck 3 times and having multiple surgeries, I know how much this hurts.
First thing is to take a hot bath or shower and soak your neck in water as warm as you can handle, you might want to do this ever couple of hours till it starts feeling better.
Next I would make what my Pain Management Dr. calls "Rice Socks". You get regular white (uncooked NOT instant white rice) Then get two long heavy duty socks. Fill both socks with the rice, Being very careful not to get the stuff wet. Tie a knot in the openings of the socks. Now you have 2 Rice Socks-Keep them in the Freezer. If you need Heat for MUSCLE Pain, but one in the Micro Wave for 2 mins until hot, then put it on the part of your neck that is sore. You can alternate the 2 socks as needed. they stay Warm about 20 mins.
Remember Heat for Muscle Pain, Cold for Swelling.
Also take NSAID like Naproxen and Tylenol. The NSAID if for the swelling and the Tylenol is for pain. Alternate every 4 hrs.
Make sure when you lay down you have support under the part of your neck that hurt, but make sure your neck is in line with the spine. God Bless ReggieR

You've probably got a pinched nerve. Take an over the counter pain killer (your choice) and take hot showers with the stream on the neck. If there is no change in a few days go to the doctor. You may need a muscle relaxer. Good luck.

Go to a doctor! A girl in my class had this one morning, went to the doctor, and figured out if she would have moved her neck a quarter inch more than she had stretched it she would have been paralyzed for life. And she felt exactly the way you do so try not to move your neck.
