at the moment, i believe that human is one of the natures greatest mistakes, because we just keep killing ourselves, and seems as though we cannot get along with each other.

And also, we are destroying the nature so it must be a mistake.

I don't feel that humans are a mistake. However, we do make many mistakes. To compare the two as nature being responsible for humans, and us being an accomplishment, I don't think it is comparable. Nature is for the use of humans so therefore could it be the cause for the existence of humans?

The development of any species is the result of a long history of aberrant mutations. One could call these mutations "mistakes," since they are a result of our genetic replicators messing up the code.

That other guy is right that it would all be a value judgement--unless by "greatness," you mean size. Because that's pretty objective.

So if you're talking about the largest species in history, and we accept that all species are a sort of beneficial "mistake," then no: there are plenty of organisms that have been way bigger than us.

But, actually, I think the existence of consciousness is the greatest development in nature's history. I am, of course, biased.

Human is nature evolved to intelligence.Intelligence in itself is a weapon of survival. If we are nature's greatest mistake, than I am sure the self-regulatory mechanism of the Earth will find a way to get rid of us. But if we are not, than I am sure that what to do is up to us.

finest accomplishments... we have all 5 (or 6) sensess, we have the ability to create, think, speak and change the world. If we were all a mistake are you saying that the ones you love like your family, friends and boyfriend were born a mistake? that's harsh

The concept of the greater Humanity is one of Humanity's greatest accomplishments, a Triumph over Nature.

We acheived sentience not as individuals, but as a Species!

Neither. Nature does not exercise objective judgments.

But we do. And according to ourselves, the opinion is split. Some people say we're miracles of nature, others say we're like a really stupid snake that eats its own tail.

Personally, I'm more inclined to compare humanity to a mildew fungus that grows on a shower curtain.

Considering humans are from God and not Nature it is an accomplishment. God makes no mistakes.

You can blame God or wonder about nature, but can you do both? The human ego can write checks the human being can not cash: insufficient funds.

Nothing is niether good nor great. Many philosophers argue that actions or occurences are dangerous. This means to say that the only absoulute thing that we can be sure of action, while others may have intentions differing from yours saying whether something is good or bad.
