What are you willing to realize about what we call "our world"?

One who has not shaken free of what has been known as conventional wisdom for thousands of years will not see the truth as it is presented.

The Buddha told a story of a man who returned from a journey and upon returning found his home destroyed and his only son was missing. The man loved his son very much and searched frantically for him. About a hundred yards from his hut he found the body of a young boy unrecognizably burned, and believing it was his son, he had the boy cremated and kept the boys ashes in a sack around his neck.

One day a knock came at the mans door and a boy cried from the other side, "Father, I have escaped the enemy. I'm home."

The man inside responded, "No, my son is dead. Why are you torturing me?"

Because the man was so certain of what he believed, he was unable to accept the truth when it came knocking at his door.

That is what I see when I read most of the replies to this message.

To answer your question, most aren't ready.

Neat video, but it evidently falls into one of the most perilous traps of modern philosophy and new age thought: It confuses being vague and being deep. They make a lot of tall claims which may have some foundation in known fact, but still mostly rely on us interpreting them in an inaccurate and imaginative fashion that we don't have any real justification for. Is the truth stranger than we tend to think? Probably. But all this talk of us creating what we perceive with our minds and changing things by observing them still skirts the issue that there IS a reality underlying everything, that if there were truly nothing at all in an objective sense, we wouldn't be here to see it. There are certain points in the video where the thin spots in their claims become more apparent, particularly when talking about how 'we are all joined by energy' and 'we are one collective consciousness' and stuff like that, statements which basically reflect vague guesses stretched out to give them a new age feel. It's more a matter of showmanship than physics or philosophy.

It could be, but we have yet to discover more. I agree that matter is not quite as 'solid' as it seems, but it certainly exists. Things are not as they appear, but things are there nonetheless. Life is not a 'dream', a stimulus-less perception, but rather a 'trip', as if we are high on something and everything seems different than it is. This could be. I wouldn't know. But clearly something exists. The video speaks constantly of the brain as the culprit - yet at the same time it claims the brain does not exist...? No, no, no...

I think the wording is poorly phrased - it reminds people too much of solipsism or nihilism, which most tend to shy away from as useless philosophies. Which they are.

Source(s): Thanks for the interesting video clip (though I'm afraid this will keep me all worked up through my meditation...! ^_^) Sincerely, Hahahahaha... PS I do like Meklar's response - and he has a point. We don't really know much of this for sure. Most of their 'tall claims', as he puts it, are still speculation.

The most important thing I got from this video is the reality that FAITH is the means by which all things exist. For years now I have been thinking on and off (but only on the surface)....what is faith? Alma a prophet in The Book of Mormon wrote a definition to faith:

"And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.

So then.. what is true? I tend to believe that unconditional LOVE encompasses all truth and knowledge.

I enjoyed the clip...it was interesting...but these concepts are still beyond my understanding...yet of late I have been wondering....are we really all ONE? I am still trying to figure out what this means EXACTLY. Maybe it has more then one meaning...like individuality...but yet not. Idk...but I want to know. lol

    Can't watch it at work.

Reality is about perception. I perceive things differently than you, therefore my reality is different as well.

As far as if I am ready...well that depends on what the video is about.

Um I could be mistaking, but it seems like they are really focusing on People, humans. Like without us there would be nothing. And i in a way agree with that, but i believe we are here for one reason and one reason only, and that is to spread the word of God to worship him and love him. We are here on this earth for him and because of him.=) Did i totally get this wrong?
