Golf - metal woods instead of persimmons, new technology in golf ball design, cavity back irons instead of blades, the advent of hybrids: all this to allow players to have an easier time to get the ball in the air and travel farther. Classic golf courses are now being redesigned (lengthened and more hazards) to increase the challenge and now the golf governing bodies are making rulings to stop/ slow down technological advancement.
