What are some of the best toys?

I have a 3 month old german shephard and lab mix. What are some good toys for her that she can chew on but may also help her with her teeth and teething issues?

I have a German Shepherd that loves stuffed toys but not all stuffed toys are very duable for strong chewers such as my shepherd and puppies in general. As far as stronger toys that last longer go I reccomend tennis balls, rubber balls, kongs, etc

here are some links to toys:

Kong toys....the one that you stuff with treats (although mine is partial to it).

It also depends on the dog...what does she like to chew on the most. Mine has an obsession will all things stuffed (I do buy safe stuffed toys and remove them as soon as he's done damage).

A BIG raw hide (i know, its bad, but its closely supervised at my house)...I dont let him chew pieces off, and I buy the biggest one to where he cant really chew it up....throw it away as soon as it starts to give.

I've tried soaking a small rag/towel and freezing it...but that didnt work for my pup.

You've just got to watch her and find out what she likes, and then get a safe toy that matches her tastes. There is no point of buying expensive teething toys if your dog will never pick it up. Believe me, we have sooo many toys that I might as well pack up and give to someone.

Source(s): Yeah, plastic bottles are a big hit too (cap and paper removed). but mine will start breaking pieces of plastic apart in minutes...so it only lasts about 5-10 min.

A kong! One for puppies, they have strange shaped ones that help with chewing and teething but also gives out treats like the regular ones.

They are an all time favorite in our household.

Kongs and Nylabones are very durable chew toys. Sometimes teething pups like the Kong better when it's frozen first--the cold feels good on their gums.

An empty 2 liter plastic coke bottle or similar. My pup loves it more than any other toy, something about its chewability and the sounds it makes. Very noisy so only a special occasion toy.
