attic insulation, do i need more?
i have all new double pane windows and new doors, the a.c. is a 2 ton that is a 2yr. old york system. house is 900 sq. feet single story and is in so. cal., the ac will only cool the house to 77 when it is a hundred out.in the attic i only have 6.5 inches of isulation, would adding more help with cooling?

Yes, insulation will help. Also, have you changed/cleaned the air filter recently? Have you washed off your outdoor unit coils?

Why do you cover your skin from UV? It burns you and solar radiation is burning the building. The heat generated is more than the house and attic are insulated for so your A/C is treating the indoor heat symptom.
Problem is A/C is really refrigeration, why do you have heating and refrigeration in the same house? The building is the source of heat. Here is a link to show you what solar radiation does in the infrared spectrum from outside and inside the building.
