who do you think will win the wsop main event?

obviously, you have to believe that despite the fact that he's starting 7th in chips, no one at that table will have any edge over phil ivey, he's clearly the best player in the world and far and away the best, most fearsome, and most motivated player at the table...he's been close in this tournament before but has never been this close, and he might be the only player in it who's got no regard for the money at stake(jeff shulman probably fits into this category as well), and you can bet he'll be on a mission to destroy all comers when the time comes...there will be a lot of players at this table getting training in the time between now and the final table but all the training in the world won't give them ivey's experience and instincts...all i know is, if he gets chips to play with and doesn't get unlucky in a big pot, everyone might just want to go home and get out of his way

if forced to pick someone besides phil, jeff shulman has to be the favorite, he's the pro with the most chips and would definitely be the favorite in any circle if ivey weren't at the table with him...he's got a lot of experience and won't be scared of the money, and he's been close in this tournament before as well

so, who does everyone else has the best shot to win this thing?

Update:

i think if you asked any of the top pros to pick the best player in the world today other than themselves, every single one of them would say ivey...he doesn't need a me title, imo, to validate himself, he's already done that in the cash games and with his significant tournament successes in spite of the fact that he plays a limited schedule...he's the youngest player ever to 7 bracelets, has more wpt final tables than anyone else, and has beaten the biggest cash game in the world more consistently than anyone else over the past several years...i just have to completely disagree with you tank, i think ivey is cemented as the #1 player in the world and as 1 of the best ever

Following the tourney online, I was cheering for Ivey from Day 3, and I would love to see him win it all. That would go a long way toward proving that he's "he's clearly the best player in the world". (personally, I think that, without the WSOP ME title, it's a tough argument to make.)

That being said, I don't like his chances much. With the BB being around a quarter million, the bottom 4 are going to need some serious luck to survive. With one three-bet, you're commiting 10-20% of your stack preflop. It doesn't take many of those to ruin a perfectly good autumn day.

At the risk of looking like a bandwagon jumper, Moon has 30% of the table's chips and has been playing extremely well for the last 4-5 days. He's been bullying very effectively, and also playing good poker.

If I had to put money down, I'd put it on him. If not him, then Ivey. And behind them, I like Shulman too.

The rest of the board seems to me to fit into the "just happy to be here" mold. They obviously played their asses off, becasue they ARE on the final table of the WSOP ME afer all, but they were coin flipping way too much for my tastes, and I'd hate to pin my hopes on 'eenie-meenie-minie-mo'.
