    Click on Office button top left of ribbon, down and across to Word Options, click on Save button then in pane on right change save documents in this format to .docx by clicking on downward arrow to reveal options, then clicking on it and then on the OK button. From then on you shouldn't have any problems. I am assuming though that you now have genuine version of the program and that you weren't using trial version which has perhaps expired.

    use openoffice.org for now, since your pressed for time you will be able to get your work done and worry about your office 2007 problem later.

    Note: When you go to save as > make sure you save it as a 97-2003 word document so you can open it up with word later if you have to. If your going to print it out at home then don't worry about it, you can keep it as the default odt

    Download here > http://www.openoffice.org/

    PS. This program is very similar to office, however there are some things you can do in this program that you can't do in microsoft office.

    To find your Docs:-

    Start;

    All Programs;

    Documents; (just to the right in the black)

    You’ll find it here if it was save at all.

    In the long term use "Save As" so that you can specify the folder

    In future, do this when you want to save your work

    File > Save As...

    By doing this you can specify where on your computer you want to save the document to. When saving, just ensure the "save as type" in the "Save As" window is set to "Word Document".

    Never just click File > Save

    If you save it it is saved as a W FILE.

    The trick is it's on your computer now you must fiqure where it is saved at more than likely to your documents.
