I have optical insurance, yet I still end up owing a big chunk of money. Do you think that this is fair?

I think cash may be the way to go I have insurance and my glasses cost me $275 after my insurance but my husband does not and he went the cash route at one of those discount places and paid $180.

Paying cash is an option but so is getting better insurance. I have optical insurance and only paid $20 copay. Also my company pays for it not me.

I just went to JC Penny's and they had a sale on glasses so I had them figure up how much it would cost and how much my insurance would cover. They told me that if I used my insurance I could not get the sale price. The sale was 50% off. So if I use my insurance it will cost twice as much.............
