Baked
My maples wilt
In the Summer heat
Leaves yellowed
Or curling
In bitter defeat
Weeds and vines twist
Scrabbling thin fingers
Chip away
At mortar
Still the heat lingers
No welcome here
Doors and windows closed
AC blasts
Each his sad
Quarantine imposed
Come bravely here to visit me
I’ll offer you some sweet iced tea.
I'm thinking of changing "here" to "home" in line 11. It would improve the sound, but it would modify the meaning somewhat.
Oh, :] -there's a lot of good stuff on Y!A, but you've got to be patient and look.

At first I thought
you were talking about weed
the kind to smoke
and then I've seen
how I ought not
to have judged the screen
before I clicked open
and saw the poem
underneath.
You are talented!
I'm impressed!
This is better than
I would have guessed.
Don't stop writing
for you made me smile
to think on sweet memories
of cold iced tea.

i have been writing poetry for over 15 years, i can say that this is very good. 9 out of 10 !!! dont stop writing.
