Beautiful Maid of Honour dress for a fuller figure?

Hi girls, hope you can help, Im getting married next year and have 4 bridesmaids aged from 10-17, and my best friend from school as my maid of honour.

My maid of honour is in her early 30's, really pretty with a fine full figure - Im not sure about sizes and things but Id guess a UK size 22 or above maybe which could take us out of the high street stores?

I would really like to find bridesmaid dresses that match (thinking champange colour as the girls are all light skinned)

but really want my MOH to look beautiful and feel comfortable in what she's wearing), and also have the teen girls in a fashionable style so all the girls match a theme?

Does anyone know of a good shop that sells bridesmaid dresses for teens up to plus sizes, in the UK midlands thats reasonably priced?

Firstly, wingsof_... should be reported for abuse. What a nasty, evil and small minded thing to say.

Secondly, some store do stock a limited number of dresses in Plus sizes on the high street but, as it is coming to the end of the "season" fashion-wise it could be tough to get wat you want from these and you may have to go online or to specialist stores. Just remember to choose apropriate to her figure (I'm sure you will given what you have said about wanting her to look and feel beautiful.)

I found this for you, it's not in the Midlands but could give you an idea or two...or do mail order...

And also, you could kit your younger girls out at BHS and save a bit of money (they have some lovely Champagne colour dresses and 2 piece sets.

Another tip for you MOH is to try a little shapewear under her clothes. There is a Trinny and Susannah product available at Debenhams that promises to improve the figure and reduce the measurements by one dress size (22 would become 20). Or look here for other options

I'm wearing a "Slimming tube" under my wedding dress for a better fit and, having tried it on, found it surprisingly comfy.

Good luck, I'm sure you will all look gorgeous!

How about Monsoon? I have a size 16 bridesmaid and a size 24 bridesmaid and they have some lovely dresses.

Alternatively, I know there's a shop in Castleford in Yorkshire called "The Big Day" which does lovely dresses. It's a bit further out for you I know but still !

Otherwise, the other website I've been looking at is

    http://www.dessy.com/uk

They do beautiful dresses in sizes up to 28. Loads and loads of different styles and you can pick from hundreds of colours! It you go to the store finder at the top right hand side of the page you can look for stockists near you. They've got the price brackets into like under £100, under £200 etc.

    Hope you find something lovely!

Make it a girls day out and go shopping with her, treat her to lunch and help her pick out her dress. I am sure she wants to look pretty and I am sure she value your opinion if she is your maid of honor. Also don't' be afraid to find and recommend a good tailor to do alternations. This can make the big difference. Normal cloths aren't really made to fit right any "unusual" figures but if you have it altered they make sure it fits right and covers everything correctly. I agree with everyone else about basic A-line dresses. In my wedding I had everything from flat and skinny to voluptuous size G bra girls and they all wore the same dress that was even strapless. There were basic A line strapless dresses and they all said they loved them and even my large Friend who was my maid of honor loved it and said it was one of the most flattering dresses she wore.. she did have it slightly altered to fit correctly on top. I don't know where you live, but I got mine at the Jessica McClintock Outlet store for 90% off!

I was recently a MOH and I am a size 18 so I understand the feeling of your MOH! I think that you need to look into designers through boutiques. I know Alfred Angelo, Jasmin, and other designers have ways to order dresses in larger sizes. Price may increase.

Also, when ordering dresses ask about custom cuts, I paid $40 to have them measure me from the top to the empire waist so that I wasn't showing too much cleavage! Best $$$ I have ever spent! I was so comfortable that night and LOVED that dress.

most bridal stores will stock a size 22

i know forever yours and alfred angelo dresses go up to a size 30.

and they are very reasonably priced, just google for stockists in your area champagne might not be so nice on a fuller figure as it's more likely to show lumps and bumps you'd really be best getting the girls to try colours on before deciding though

Source(s): when i went bridesmaid dress shopping they honestly stocked dresses right up to a size 30 in the stores so she shouldnt have too much trouble

Hi, i'am getting married in sept. and my MOH is full figured also , we went to DavidsBridal and found dress for her my 10yr and my 14yr and very reasonable. think the girls dress was 89$ and MOH was 140 plus tax. And we took the dress to a seamstress so we didn't pay for alteration there. Good luck and hope u find what u r looking for

try something that was nip in the waist a little, then flow out and skim over the hips and thighs... also a shawl that matches the dress should look nice

Also, notice how the second dress has patterns on the upper body. this draws the eye up. put sequins or beading in a V shape along the upper body as, it draws the eye down and makes the body appear slimmer

THE SILHOUETTES OF THESE DRESS SHOULD LOOK GOOD

i also suggest googling Queen Latifah's dresses on the red carpet, as she wears suitable silhouettes...... like..

No way. I can't see anyone stocking a bridesmaid dress in such a huge, massive size. You're going to have to have one made and that's going to be expensive. I have seen SOME in a 'fuller figure' but i'm sorry a size 22 is not 'fuller figue' it's obese. Good luck with it though.
