Question about children's books & illustrator's pay?

I'm asking for any web addresses relating to information about the UK children's illustrated book market. i.e. standard types of contracts for the author vs illustrator, how pay is calculated for both of the above, etc. LINKS most welcome, please!

there will be no standard rate of pay etc.

most illustrators are employed on salaries and do not normally have an interest in the royalties generated by the book

most authors receive royalties based on the books sales BUT the amount they receive depends very much on their reputations and experience - JK Rowling receives much higher royalties than a new author for instance even if the new author's books sell as well
