Need help finding a book series for my son.?

He liked the 39 clues, Percy Jackson series. The Immortal Nicholas Flamel, The Dark is Rising series, T.A. Baron's Merlin series and Diane Duanes Young Wizaed series. He is more in to the Action Adventure / Fantasy Sci-Fi mix kind of category. Any suggestions?

Try the Eragon Cycle(three books are published, and a fourth and final one is on it's way), the Harry Potter series(seven books, all of which should keep him entertained for 3+ days each. As you get higher in the series, the books tend to get larger). I've also heard that the Magyk and Artemis Fowl books tend to be good, but they haven't appealed to me. as for adventure books, have him try anything by Gary Pulsen. Depending on his age, the Child called It book series, but I can't remember the author.

My way of finding what book I will read next is going into the fiction, teen, or children's fiction section and looking at the bindings for interesting colors that 'pop' out at me. This method proves to have interesting effects. Also, checking in the new books section.

How old is he? My grandson LOVED the Hatchett series of 5 books last summer when he was 12. They are written by Gary Paulson. He also wrote the 5 book Tuckett series which he enjoyed, too. Right now, at 13, he is reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy

I really liked Dennis L. McKiernan's "Mithgar" series. It's high fantasy (like Lord of the Rings) without much sci-fi. Some of his side discussions get a little deep and lengthy, but he is one of my favorite authors.

Piers Anthony's "Xanth" series is also good, especially the first four books.

Harry Potter (by J.K. Rowling), the Bartimaeus Trilogy (by Jonathan Stroud), the Inheritance Cycle books (i.e., Eragon, by Christopher Paolini) and the Septimus Heap novels (Angie Sage) would all be great. Those are all very fantasy.
