Sam Browne - the military belt of the same name is named after a General Sam Browne.

    Okay so far?

The problem is both the British and the Americans claim to have invented the Sam Brown belt. The Americans have proof it was their invention.

Naughty, naughty, naughty. The head of the British Army (in the next link), making a very smart salute and wearing the all British Sam Browne belt, gas gorn and upset the UK.gov. Well, he's not the only one, is he? Everyone has upset the government and it's public pressure what has made Gordon Brown come to heel.
