yep do a search for video capture dongle, it will plug into a usb port on your computer, you then connect the dv cam to it and let the program that comes with the hardware do the rest. They aren't too pricey... Hope this helps

If you need to convert your mini DV s to DVD there are 3 ways you can do this: #1. If you still have that MiniDV camcorder and a DVD recorder you can hook it up to the DVD recorder then press play on your camcorder and then record on the DVD recorder. #2. you can buy a USB to RCA Adapter. Hook your 3 colored cables into your camcorder and then the USB into your computer or laptop. Using software Such as Nero you can record it onto your hd of the computer or laptop. You press play on your camcorder and then hit the record button in Nero or whatever software you are using. #3. you can buy a blank VHS cassette tape (If you have a VHS machine) Place your MiniDV into the blank VHS cassette and place it into the VHS machine and press play and then hit the record on your DVD recorder. To hook your VHS machine to your DVD recorder 1. Take a set of RCA cables (red, White and Yellow and go from the out on your DVD to your TV or Monitor). 2. Next take a 2nd set or RCA cables and go from the in on the DVD recorder machine to the out on your VHS machine. I prefer the #3 method myself. The Blank VHS cassettes are very inexpensive. and it is a great way to do all you to do all your MiniDV and VHS transfers. If you go with the #2 method the USB to RCA adaptor will run you anywhere from $15.00 to $30.00 Canadian (Depends on where you buy it. You can always pay to have it done, but if you have a lot then it can be expensive. There are a few other ways but these are the 3 easies methods. You will need to use the #2 method if you plan on doing some editing... Good luck with those transfers. Frank O Connor
