Which name is better?
My wife of 7 years is pregnant with opposite sex twins (yay!) and we were brainstorming possible names (this is so exciting). She wants the girl to either be named Violet or some variation of it if we find a better one and she wants to name the boy Virgil so they have matching initials. I like the names but i would prefer to the boy to be Artemis and the girl to be Diana so they're matching Greek and Roman gods ( history scholar, kinda nerdy like that). What do you think? Is she right, am I, would some mixing be better or just any other names you want to throw in (please nothing too generic like Brad, David, Ryan or any of those name but nothing to weird like Apple or Beam. Thank you in advance ( I CAN'T WAIT!)

I like your theme better, but I don't really like the names. I don't think twins should have the same initials since they already have to share a lot. Some sort of theme (like Greek and Roman gods) is cute, as long as it's not super obvious and matchy.

I love the name Violet. A similar name is Viola, which is Itlalian for purple I think.
I dislike Virgil and prefer Artemis. I think Virgil could spark a massive wow-his-name-sounds-like-virgin-let's-pick-on-him fest. But Artemis is pretty cool! If you wanted to keep the V V initials can I suggest Vincent for a boy, or Valentino.

Maybe you should give them the god/goddess middle names, since your wife likes Violet and it is a cute name. Other V boy names are Valin, Vardon, Varian, Vaughn, Vincent, Vale. Or if you use Virgil, you could use the name Aenid with the other twin, as it was the poet Virgil's best known work.

How about Viola and Sebastian? - the twins in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night are called Viola and Sebastian.
Gem and Thomas - Gem would be short for Gemini. Both of these names have "twin" as their meaning.
Other names with "twin" as the meaning = Tamsin, Thomasina, Teom.
Helen and Troy? -OK that one is probably toooo matchy :) - I know Helen's actual brother was Castor, but I don't like that name much...
Rhea and Roman - Rhea (Silvia) being the mother of Rome's twin founders. You could go for Silvia and Roman too.
Selena and Ravi - Selena being the Greek moon goddess, and Ravi being the Hindu sun god.
Or if you want two sun/sky god names - use Thea and Ravi?
Iris and Evan - Evan would be short for Evangelos, meaning 'good messenger' in Greek. And then Iris was a messenger-goddess. Might be a good one if you like flower names...

Get rid of the Greek Gods and Virgil. They dont HAVE to have matching names. Its cute at first but tacky when they get older.
