Media Oddity -- Did Anyone Else Notice?

The media was all over the Death of a 50 yo ersatz entertainer, the 40th Anniversary of the US Landing on the Moon, The death of a CBS journalist, and the Health Funding Bill --- This weekend was the 40th Anniversary of the Death of Ms Kopechne at Chappaquiddick, yet I cannot recall one mention of it on the mainstream news. Teddy's name was mentioned each time the Health care bill was noted. Ted Kennedy and his 45 years in the Senate, His concern for 40 plus years on health care issues was said on CBS and NBC today --- but I did not read one mention of Kennedy and this death.

Does this support the notion of a liberal bias to mainstream news?

Note: This was often mentioned by my parents where I grew up --- so I am biased.

Update:

Yes, I did hear about the kidnapped Marine, but its spin was that the USMC was badmouthing America. The Marine clearly was not the son of a member of the mainstream media.

As to writewingnews --- how many people saw that ?

I did not even hear it on talk radio this morning?

Update 2:

No Teddy did not die. CBS was floating the the death of the health care bill (or non-birth by Aug recess) and during this balloon float mentioned Teddy and the Moon Walk near each other.

they choose to sideline the news for which no one has time to react to items like stimulus scam, and the fact that there was a marine kidnapped? have you heard of that? they want you to think your opinion matters but they choose you to get a one sided report and base it off them. Fox News is the only one I have seen report anything and everything.

I did see the story on Chappaquiddick in the news. And what could be said about it at this point? Kennedy messed up that night. We know it. He knows it.

The Jackson and Cronkite deaths happened this month and are noteworthy, so I can't complain about that. The moon landing anniversary is a convenient link to stories on what our space program is doing now and what it was like then. Again, logical. Walking on another heavenly body (love that cliche) will be remembered forever.

Did not hear a word about Chappaquiddick this weekend. Perhaps the media believes that people just do not care any longer about the actions of politicians.

media mentions things that 'sell' and sometimes some things are elaborated more than others to take your mind off something that could be more damaging to your welfare than these petty news points

hmmmm, are you saying Ted Kennedy died? in that case if true, really is news but believe me it will be big in the media when it does happen(I do not believe it has yet).
