I hate this process, but you have to set aside a couple of hours to soak them off at the salon. They'll basically fill 2 bowls with acetone & you sit there with your fingers in the bowls and the acrylic will slowly melt off. The girl who did mine would check on me periodically & when it was pretty much done, she used the buffer to make my nails smooth. My hands were very dry though from this process so I did a parrafin wax treatment to help.

Hi,
Start by filing the nails down as much as possible, then file the actual face of the artificial nail so it is rough.
Then get a bowl of warm water (not boiling but hot), then fill a smaller (acetone friendly) bowl with acetone and float this bowl in the bowl of warm water.
Soak your nails in the acetone in the smaller bowl for about 10 mins (the heat from the warm water will speed up the chemical process). Then remove and using a nail file gentle file away the acrylic/silk. If there is still lot of the product left on your nail soak your nails for a further 10 mins.
After you have removed all the artificial nail, wash your hands and apply lots of hand cream as acetone is very drying to the skin.

You Need A Bowl, Nail Fieler,&&Nail Polish Remover.
Pour The Nail Polish Remover Into The Boul&&Put One Hand Into It And Wait 15 Minz. Take Your Hand Out And Gently Peel It Off Slowly. Then Use The Nail Fieler To Take Off The Remaining Bits Of The Nail. Then Do The Other Hand.

I would say Acetone.
It eats up glue. The only problem is that it will dry your fingers and stink.
Perhaps you should try GooGone. This stuff is designed to eat and type of adhesive. and it smells like McDonald's orange juice :)
and it's not so toxic.
