If Walter Cronkite were alive and in his prime, would he still be regarded as "most trusted man in America"?

Why, or why not?

He was a rarity - a newsman who behaved in the most professional manner and really cared that his listeners knew what was going on in the world that impacted their lives - unlike the shallow bits of glitz that pass for reporters nowadays.

    No

Walter Cronkite lived in an age when news accuracy and impartial reporting was sacred. Today, the cutthroat competition in network news divisions has moved toward sensationalism and editorial journalism rather than accuracy.

He would either be forced to conform or retire in todays market place

Doubtful, and here's why: we have become so polarized, there would be one camp who admired his integrity and strict regard for truth and another who would think it was all a front and that he was just spewing lies.

A very sad state of affairs. But what a great question!

No, he'd just be another Liberal TV reporter.
