Nervous Border Collie Question.?

i have two 7 month old male border collie pups, (seperate litters) my eldist boy wee's everywhere when he gets nervous!

It could be if someone shouts in my house or just sometimes if you call him he will run away from you weeing everywhere.

We have had him from 16 weeks old and has been toilet trained since he was about 17-18 weeks old.

I have never hit him or told him off badly im at my wits end now, we have had to rip up the carpets around the house where we were toilet training them and we are now having new laminate put down all downstairs and im worried about him weeing all over it and ruining it.

Any ideas on how to stop him getting so nervous??

He has lots of cuddles etc and they get enough exercise i just dont understand why he would get so nervous.

How much exercise is he getting? BCs are very high energy dogs, and they also need a lot of brain stimulation. He needs a job to do, Take him to obedience classes, agility or fly ball. At the moment his brain is being used in the wrong way.

When pedometers were fixed to working BCs, in the UK they were travelling over 25 miles on a quiet day and over 75 on a busy day. This was utilising both their stamina and their brains but, guess what? They were ready to do the same the next day.

It will take a while but he'll grow out of it. Most boy puppies do that but try chaining him outside with the girl (so he wont get lonely) and so it doesn't make your home a mess. It may take a year or so but he will grow out of it.

Another tip is to take him outside (mostly on walks) every hour or every half hour. I suggest every half-hour so he'll get used to going out but then gradually take him out later and later at a time. :)
