do you think the men went to the moon..?

no offense but i don't think the men went to the moon because if you see the video you see the united states flag moving in the wind and there is suppose to be no air on space. and they are alot of weird things on that video. so do you really think the men went to the moon??

and i am not being a hater is just that some of things are weird.

Any way today is the 40th anniversary of the first moon landing.

Update:

i say no offense because thats what i think i am not calling them liars i just have some reasons to be suspisious.

We went to the Moon six times between 1969 and 1972. There is copious evidence to support this fact (Moon rocks we brought back, reflectors left behind you can bounce a laser off of, thousands of hours of video and photographic footage that couldn't be faked at that time, we were tracked all the way there and back by the Soviet Union) and nothing against it - all the conspiracy theories against landing on the Moon can be debunked by a high school physics student. They represent a poor understanding of basic science.

I find it really hard to believe we had the technology to do so. Why was it so easy to constantly go back and now all of a sudden we stop going??? The Russians beat us in everything related to the space race except for the moon, does that not sound strange??? We have moon rocks but those were brought back by robots missions I believe and of course the moon rocks are similar rocks found here on earth, the laser reflectors could have been left by robot missions in the past, theres no real hard concrete evidence that we landed.

Anything can be covered up with a little elaborate answer that sounds professional. Many year the USA denied a suspected Area 51 and even wrote a "Blue Book" showing proof that no such place exists and now low and behold they couldn't hide it anymore. Same deal with the moon conspiracy, they came out with a blue book bebunking hoax theories and ideas....how much longer will it be before we discover the truth?

How come our satelites can take a picture of a cars license plate number but no one can take a clear shot of the moon? I thought we had the technology lol hhhmmmm???

It's not a matter of what anyone thinks. The simple fact IS that they went to the moon. It is the best documented event in history. The Soviets monitored the Apollo missions every step of the way with their own equipment.

In 40 years, NOT ONE expert, anywhere in the world has raised any objections. The flags behave exactly as they would be expected to. They flop around when handled. Did you have some reason for believing they shouldn't? Sometimes they are seen swinging like a pendulum for several seconds after being touched. This is EXACTLY what would be expected in an airless environment. They'll swing like that for longer on the moon than they would on earth because there is no air to slow down the movement.

Did you ever notice how sometimes the free corner of the flag flops almost all the way back up to the horizontal rod? Try that in air.

Oh God, you're not talking about the still pictures, are you? I hope not. By now I would think everybody in the world would know that there was a horizontal rod extending through the top edge of the flag. Did you ever notice how STRAIGHT it is?? And yes, the flags stayed crinkled. They were fabric. They probably would have hung straighter on earth, where they would weigh six times what they weighed on the moon.

Okay, so you're getting this now. Right?

Hey, Bullseye, your references sound just like Bill Kaysing's! lol

Ken, do you realize that the micro-meteoric dimples the moon rocks are studded with cannot survive entry into earth's atmosphere? Do you believe all these PhD geologists around the world who have collectively examined 880 pounds of moon rocks actually know LESS about this than you and other totally uncredentialed hoax theorists do?

Erica, ain't anonymity great!? First of all, your comment has nothing to do with what he said. Secondly, the flag waving has been completely explained here. Now you are calling people dumb? Of course there is no air on the moon. Every 8th grader (in1969) knew that. What, did you figure that the smartest engineers and physicists in the WORLD all MISSED that? Does that ACTUALLY makes sense to you?

Flags are seen moving only when handled or immediately after, like I explained above. Why do you assume that anyone here knows less about this than you?

x.LO.x...sheesh. Are you aware of any commercial planes that fly 5 times the speed of sound? "Surely" we would have gone back? You say this with such authority. What is your expertise in this? The reason we didn't go back was because we did what we set out to do. The main thing was just to DO it. There is no need to spend that kind of money and risk human lives to go walk on a rock that 12 guys already walked on, when you can launch about 10 robotic planetary probes for the same cost as one manned mission to the moon. Yes, dear, these things cost money. Once you start making your own income and buying your own stuff, you'll have a better sense of this.

Sinai, your reasons for suspicion are invalid and based on 1) your own personal lack of knowledge on this subject, and 2) the claims of people who have no idea what they are talking about. You apparently have trouble judging the relative reliability of various information sources. You have not studied the subject long enough to have seen how massive and irrefutable all the evidence is, and how ill-informed and sometimes downright stupid the hoax claims are.

Well, quite simply, NASA wanted to have a flag to plant in the lunar surface. There is no wind, so the flag would just hang there limp. That would not be very impressive. Also, it would be just a swatch of colored fabric in photos. There would be no way to tell that it was an American flag. So, they came up with an ingenious way of sticking a flag in the surface that looked like it were waving. The fabric of the flag has a wire mesh sewn into it. The flag rolls up into a nice little package. When on the Moon, the astronauts extend the pole and stick it into the ground. They can then unroll the flag. Working in heavy spacesuits, though, it is easier to unroll the flag and then stick it into the ground. The lunar surface is grainular and tough to poke the flag into. So, they have to rock the pole back and forth shoving it down into the ground. Watching on the TV, this back and forth motion makes the flag swing back and forth like it is waving.

The wire mesh is sewn into the fabric so that the flag will appear to stand out straight in the absense of wind. But, a flag sticking straight out from the pole doesn’t look natural. So, the astronauts often would extend the flag and bend ripples into it so that it looked more like it were waving. Look at video of the astronauts moving around the flag. It looks like it is waving, but it is frozen in position as the astronauts move by. It doesn’t actually wave. As it turns out, the flag didn’t really unroll as smoothly on the Moon as it did in tests on Earth, so the astronauts didn’t have to do much work to make it look like it were waving. It tended to look crinkly anyway.

My final image is of the flag left by Apollo 11, as seen from the lunar lander. Without weather, one would expect that this scene would remain like this forever. But, that isn’t quite what happened. When the ascent module took off, the blast from the exhaust of the rocket engine blew over the flag. Just before it blew over, the blast shook it. This is the only time that the flag actually waved while on the Moon — while it was being blasted with rocket exhaust

To say that Man did not land on the moon is to deny the incredible courage of those men who suited up, climbed into a small rocket, and allowed themselves to be sent from earth out into space and to deny the amazing ingenuity of thousands of people who made that happen.

The flag is moving because of the vibrations caused by putting it in the ground and it being touched. Have you ever jammed a long stick in the ground, like a flag? It shakes a bit doesn't it? Same thing with the flag

Twelve men walked on the Moon. The hoax arguments have been debunked many times.

there are alot of theories.... and i know exactly the video that you are talking about, but it is my belief that we did go, just like JFK was really shot, (which is also a theory that he didnt, and the hollacaust was real. which was also questioned as being fake.

ill give you props for that tho...that documentary did make me question it a little bit. but talking to my mom (she was alive and saw it with her own eyes) when it happened and i trust her 100%

edit: just read this TODAY... answered a lot of questions that are being asked that have been PROVEN

There was actually an alien laying on the ground that moved the flag. I was told this by someone who knew someone, who had a friend that worked cleaning floors inside the Houston Space Center.

Look at this! --- It's FULL OF landers!

It was a big hoax. The "moon rocks" are pieces of meteors. The reflectors could be sent there without actually landing on the moon just like you could throw a reflector onto the roof of your house. Don't you think it is strange that now days we could tell if video is phony and they "lost" the original videos? And look how long it has been since we went back. We never went there in the first place. I want to know where the billions of dollars went.

The flag is not blowing it only moved when it was touched.

Erica what do you mean I am dumb if you watch the video when the flag only moves when it is being touched.
