Pregnant! Really confused about due date?
When we found out a few weeks ago that we were expecting, I just grabbed the first due date calculator that I found and was going by that date... but today I went back and double checked on a couple of other online calculators, and the dates I am getting vary by three weeks!
My last menstrual period started on April 28, 2009 but my cycles are really irregular. Here are the past few (first day of) cycle dates:
November 3, 2008
December 15, 2008
January 15, 2009
February 16, 2009
March 19, 2009
April 28, 2009
Does anyone know of a reliable way to calculate my cycle length? I am just using the average number of days. Also, is there an online pregnancy calculator that you could recommend? I just think it would be great to know whether I am nine weeks or thirteen, and my first prenatal appointment isn't for another few days yet..
Thanks for your help!

Estimated Due Dates are just that...Estimated, even if you know the actual day the baby was concieved. No one, not even a medical professional will know exactly when you are due, some babies stay in a little longer, others shorter. I am a midwife's assistant, and I have a birth wheel that tells your approx due date according to your last period to be on Feb 1st 2010. The best thing to do is just assume it can happen anywhere between the last week of January to the 2nd week of February. You might want to go and get an ultrasound, they can determine by the size of the baby exactly how far along you are to get a better idea. Good luck to you, and be sure to take good care of yourself for you and the baby!

doctors use the first day of your last period, unless you know the exact date of conception. So you are in your 12th week. A normal pregnancy is 40-42 weeks. So, you can look at the calendar, and calculate your due date by counting, starting April 28.
Your ultrasounds will also estimate the baby's age, in case the date of your last period is incorrect or you ovulated at an odd time.

If your last menstrual period started on April 28 then your due date is around February 2. All doctors will use that or something close to it. You might come early or late but for all intensive purposes that's what you go by. Full term is 37 to 40 weeks so there is your 3 week variation taken care of right there. They will come when they are ready.

calculate the above dates time in between your cycles and then average them and go by that number. Kinda like when a teacher gives you your grade average.
Hope this helps
