What would happen if a dog drank a small amount of an energy drink?
I'm at a friends house and we were in her backyard and my rockstar energy drink fell over and spilled. Her dog (half beagle half brittany spaniel) lapped up about 1-2 ounces or so (its hard to estimate that but that's my best guess) as we got something to wipe it up with. Now we're worried about whether anything will happen to the dog.
Thanks!

I don't think I've heard of energy drinks being bad for dogs?
I think the dog will be just fine. Dogs ingest much, much worse things, trust me!

Similar to drinking beer it should not harm your dog. If your worried try and get the dog to drink lots of water. Energy drinks boost our heart rates so Im guessing the worst that will happen is that it will do the same thing to the dog.

I doubt that anything would happen to the dog, other then she may get a little more energy. I doubt there is anything in the drink that would hurt the dog.

Give the dog lots of water, and dog food. The dog will be fine, unless it has any allergies to the contents which isn't likely. It probably will just be extremely hyper for a few hours. :)

Caffeine in energy drink are toxic to dogs so if he's acting funky then take him an emergency trip to vet

other than possibly getting wired for a while and possibly having the "runs", your dog should be fine. I'm not a vet or anything, but i do have a dog that has gotten into my redbull and coffee a few times. (he's a chihuahua).

It will be fine. My friend's dog had the same situation. It just might be a bit hyper due to all the sugars. Its nothing to worry about because she only had a sip.

He will probably be ok. The caffeine and all aren't good for him. He may be a little jittery or spun up, but I don't think he got enough to really hurt him.
You can always call the vet and ask (that's free).
