How can I get rid of a stupid antivirus demo?
I get these popups for "spyware alert!" and "your computer is being attacked by virus!" and "security alert" and "antivirus system pro alert" and they keep coming back every ten seconds or so even though I ran my virus scan which does not detect them and I cannot find them with search. I just have no idea how to get rid of them but they are extremely annoying. I finally opened the website for Antivirus Guardian and it seems to have slowed down but it still continues. How can I eliminate them? Don't tell me I have to buy their software! Does anyone else have this?
Update 17:45 Tues 7/21: I download free stuff but it becomes "infected" and then I can't open it. Tried adware, avg, malware antimalware, cnet, and one of them scanned and I got 55 noncritical items but to get rid of them costs $ for the getridware.
Also msconfig is infected cant use.
McAfee antivirus scan found 0. It came with the Dell a few years ago and hasn't been updated.
Couldn't find Super antispyware on cnet.
18:15 pm found superantispyware thanks to link by entity.
18:20 downloaded superantispyware after multiple attempts...cannot execute because infected.
Looks like I need to try the safemode stuff. Will try later.

It is, itself, a virus.

That wasn't a demo. That was malware -- adware, to be precise. And it looks like they wore you down and you went to their site. No telling what's on your machine now.
Do NOT buy their software.
If you have a real anti-virus, make sure it has the latest virus definitions and run a scan with it in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking. That often prevents malware from protecting itself. If you don’t have one, many people here swear by AVG (it’s free).
I suggest you also download Ad-Aware Free and Spybot S&D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them, again in Safe Mode With Networking.
Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.
To get into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking:
1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.
4. Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes.
Update and run everything regularly, not just when you think you already have malware.
Good luck.

I can just tell you what I do on an infected system that is worth saving without reinstalling windows...
Restart PC in safe mode by gently tapping F-8 key, choosing Safe Mode with Networking. Download, Update, run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware. When finished and restarted out of safe mode, download, Update, run A-squared and next uninstall IE and any other browsers, restart PC and download, use Ccleaner. Reinstall IE remembering to install Flash Player. Turn off System Restore and turn back on... On rare occasions I have to use Combofix, but you will have to download and read how to use it...

If you failed with all the anti-spyware programs already, you should try removing it manually:

You have viruses and need to get www.bluepointsecurity.com. It not only will clean your computer but block all unknown viruses.

remove antivirus system pro manually: http://www.spywarevoid.com/remove-antivirus-system... this way it won't be able to block the removal
