First off, what branch? You can get personal discounts, say if you're in a bar and the barkeep used to be in the same branch you're in. happens to me all the time. Some places randomly do as well. Just be sure to keep your military ID on you at all times just in case.
Places I've been discounted.... County fair, certain walmarts, hundreds od mom and pop stores, airport bars/restaurants and booze on the plane, UFC matches!!!!!! ummmm, hell, like I said. Some do some don't. It all depends. Always keep the ID on you, and cops might look the other way if you **** up and show that ID. (got me out of a speeding ticket) Good luck, have fun, travel lots.

Yes. Sprint gives a discount off on your monthly bill. I believe 15%. You can google military discounts and find many from rental cars, auto insurance (Farmers gives us 10% off), travel tickets/reservations, and many special web sites through AAFES that allows you to shop at discounted prices as well as being tax free. You have to be active and you have to enter all information like ss#, dob, etc before you can shop there. I bought a Dell laptop for a discounted price/tax free through aafes.com

you are NOT ENTITLED TO DISCOUNTS just becuase you are in the military. If a vendor chooses to offer one, great. they do not have to.
