How do I prevent spider bites / rid my apartment of an infestation?
I live in a basement apartment in Seattle. Starting a few weeks ago we started to see a huge increase in the amount of little spiders we've seen around the house. Along with the spiders came an increase in little itchy spider bites similar to mosquito bites.
The other night I was watching TV in the living room with all the lights off and I saw one descended onto my arm from the ceiling through the TV light. I also found one with a barely visible web above my bed.
My roommate claims she's killed three crawling on her in the mornings over the last week.
Is there something we can spray or some other way to prevent the bites we've been getting?
PS. I know what flee bites look like and I know how to check for bedbug infestation - this is neither of those.

Boric acid powder, borax, 20 mule team, will kill them. Baby powder might.
Use the vacuum cleaner hose to get the ones on the ceiling.
Check in the corners for little white fuzzy things. These have eggs in them.

Go to your local hardware store and get a bug bomb. You set it off after covering food and taking your pets out of your apartment for something like 3 hours. The spray bomb goes into every nook and cranny and kills the bugs and nests that are there. This is one way to rid your home of this situation. Ask them at the store if there is anything else you need to do about it. Good luck.
