    Not at all.

A lightning rod on top of a church merely shows that Christians know Science, too, even as they respect the power of Nature and the Power behind it: God, the Creator of Heaven and Earth..

Lightning rod? I thought it was a fishing rod, ready for the next great flood.

Interesting about the Pope mobile. Why does he worry about dying when he knows exactly where he's going when he dies?

somewhat. but standing upon top of a church, holding a lightning rod shows real faith in god.

first meeting of the "lightning rod churchgoers". sign up on the sheets

to the right. lottery draw sheet for people not sure of their faith.

first come, first served sheet for those with real faith. faith bonuses for any who follow a stricken comrade.

wait a minute..!!...where are you all going...???!!!

No. God can use the natural world to protect us.

To explain - we have faith that God will keep our church from being destroyed by lighting. God preserves our church from destruction by giving us the common sense to get a lightning rod. No lack of faith needed.

Nope, it only means that the owner of the church decided to put God into the test.

Sure does. They even fix them on the monstrous crosses that are erected next to Texas highways. Perhaps it is because they are hedging their bets as they have heard of Thor and might be concerned they are worshiping the wrong god.

Remember, faith is symbolic. You are combining the teachings of the bible with something that is function in today's world. I loved this question. I can see how you came to wondering about this.

Only if your church worships Zeus.
