Do you have to pay to scatter someone's ashes?
Obviously if I want to do it off of a bridge or something, I have to get permission from the city. But, do you have to pay or get permission if you want to scatter them at a cemetery?
yea I know a repost, but i am not too sure where this fits

It is illegal to scatter human remains on public or private land in most places. I don't think they give "permits", however, the open ocean is OK.
Now for the real facts. No one will know if you do it privately.

I don't think so. I scattered my Moms ashes over the buffet at the Petro truck stop (Mom always did like to travel) and I only paid $6.95.
I guess it depends on where you scatter them and if anyone sees you do it.

Save the ashes for icy weather, they are great for sprinkling on the steps and walks, and they won't harm the masonry.
