tote bag v.s. messenger bag?

im thinking of buying a bag for school, something different from the backpack i always use. so i was wondering whether i should lean towards the tote bag or the messenger bag?

    I personally think totes are much cuter and more in style. Most of them are big enough to fit everything you need too!

    I have a tote for school and I love it. I prefer them to messenger bags, they're cuter.

    Messenger bags are so cute.

    But be careful! you can hurt your back if the weight of it is not evenly distributed!
