Split Foyer- Does anyone have a ceiling fan in their entry foyer?

If you live in a split foyer (split entry) and have a ceiling fan in the foyer, does it help distribute the temperatures more evenly between the two levels?

It's 10 degrees cooler in the lower level so it feels sweltering upstairs and frigid downstairs. Anyone have luck equalizing the temperature difference (outside of dual zone HVAC)? Thanks!

We have a ceiling fan in our foyer/down stairs hall entry to help pull the cool air in the front screened door in the summer. We also have the fan running in the winter to help keep all the heat from going upstairs. We just reverse the direction of the fan blades.

If the ceiling fan isn't "strong" enough to correct the issue, there is a small fan made that fits in the corner of the doorway very neatly that does work great! Our living room is a bit of a dead air zone; the air flow just doesn't work well because of how the windows and doors are placed. We installed one of these fans and it has made a huge difference. We got ours at Lowe's and it was less than $30. and comes with the hardware to mount the fan. After doing a web search, Lowe's doesn't have them but Home Depot does!

It just might take the combination of the two but if it works, great!
