Question about State Troopers?

okay, so I live in Maryland..and recently ive noticed a lot of State troopers driving around with one headlight out. Tonight alone I saw 3 with headlights out on a 25 mile trip.

So my question is...

Do they have a switch to control this to trick you?

Or are all the crown vics purchased at teh same time...making all the bulbs blow at the same time?

Thanks

Update:

definitly not the same trooper..unless he was passing me on the opposite side of the road...swung a U-turn...passed me..swung another u-turn and then repassed me on the opposite side.

The thing that really made me notice it was there was a trooper behind me..and when he got close enough for me to "identify the crown vic honeycomb lights"...all of a sudden one headlight went out...coincidence?

Good question. I'll answer it to my best ability.

No they do not have a switch to turn off one particular headlight on or off. Most likely the vehicles were purchased at the same time or around the same time but I think it was just a coincidence because lets say one trooper has his lights on all the time day or night and others have them on only at night this would change the life of the bulb. So I would say coincidence or same trooper??

It is called lack of maintenance funds.

Cops everywhere are driving unsafe vehicles because the authorities have no money to fix or replace.

Crown Vics are susceptible to headlight failure in wet weather. Has it been wet lately?

You never noticed before because they were always fixed immediately.
